Skin care for the mature sissy.

Skin care is important. If you are going to spend a lot of time and money on make up. Don’t waste your time and money if you are not going to take care of your skin. You skin is your canvas and you want your skin to be in the best shape it can be in. Healthy skin is happy skin. This will shine through with or without make up. If you want your make up to be flawless and last all day. Take the time to prep your skin. Don’t forget to use a good moisturizer with sunscreen.

Start with your eyes.

Now that you are older. You are going to apply your make up a little bit differently. Perhaps I am suggesting that you do  things in a different order then you are used to. When most start using make up. Many start off by applying their foundation and then eyes. There is nothing wrong with that but now that you have older, more mature skin, you don’t need the fall out (fall out is when the particles  of the eye makeup fall on your face.)  So, there are ways to prevent fall out and the first step is to apply makeup first.

1) Use a Primer. Most people think Primer is for oily eyelids and this does help with that problem. Primer is also very good for the more mature eyelid. As you get older, your skin tends to get more thinner and dryer. Primer is very good to help keep that eye make up in place and acts as a foundation.

2) Eyelashes. Curl them. After you curl them. Use a loose powder and brush it over your eye lashes to help thicken them up. They also make products that do the same thing that you apply before putting on your mascara. If you only have pressed powder, don’t worry, it is easy to loosen it up with pressing your mascara wand into it. Use a mascara wand that is dedicated just for the loose powder. You can buy one or ask for one at your favorite make up counter. They have them for people that want to try mascara. After you have used your loose powder apply two coats of Mascara by starting at the root of your lash  wiggling the wand up and towards your nose. Use a clean brush to clean any particles that went on your skin. Some use a tissue and place it under the eye but a makeup brush will do a nice job cleaning up without messing up your primer.

3) Take care of your eyebrows. Go have them professionally waxed or threaded. Learn to fill in your eye brows.  The days of skinny eyebrows are long gone. It’s all about nice thick eyebrows. There are lots of choices and eyebrow kits to choose from in all types of price ranges to fit your budget.

Primer, Concealer oh my!

4) Prime your face. A makeup primer is a must for aging skin. This will help fill in some of those wrinkles and lines you want to hide. Use a concealer. A creamy concealer.

Lose the loose powder. One of the other things you will have to stop doing is using loose powder. Save the powder for your eyelashes- not for your face. Loose powder tends to settle and highlight your mature skin in an unflattering way.

Find a good creamy foundation in your skin tone. Stay tuned for more tips and makeup advice for the mature sissy. Feel free to share your favorite makeup and tips in the comments below. Don’t forget to stay hydrated gurls! Drink plenty of H20!
